Security and surveillance technology specialist Synectics, a subsidiary of Quadnetics Group, is to provide CCTV solutions for the Golden Eagle Area Development project in the North Sea which is currently being developed by Nexen Petroleum U.K. Limited.
The Golden Eagle twin platform complex, situated approximately 70km offshore from the UK coast, is scheduled to commence oil production in the last quarter of 2014. Working with telecoms system integration specialist Nessco, Synectics’ industrial division will develop a complete IP based CCTV system to closely monitor and protect key platform operational areas, including the flare, compressors, process areas, utility areas and the helideck.

The Kashagan Field in the Caspian Sea is considered the single most important discovery in the past 30 years and is the fifth largest oilfield in the world. The giant field covers an area of 75 km x 45 km and it is currently estimated that the field holds up to 38 billion barrels of oil-in-place of which 9 billion are potentially recoverable. With associated gas re-injection, it is estimated that recoverable reserves could increase to 11bn.

Petrofac E&C International Ltd chose Synectics to provide the CCTV expansion solution based on our extensive knowledge and experience of the In Salah Site and existing CCTV system onsite.
Synectics will provide a large quantity of additional cameras and control equipment expanding the CCTV network to a total of 127 camera stations throughout the Reg, Teg and Krechba sites. This CCTV expansion will provide surveillance for the additional field compression facilities at each of these sites, ensuring In Salah can maintain plateau production rates of 9 billion cubic metres per year beyond 2009.

Hazardous area CCTV surveillance manufacturer, Synectics Industrial Systems, has been awarded the contract to supply a complete CCTV system for the Gannet Alpha Platform in the North Sea by Shell U.K. Limited.
The Gannet field lies 180km east of Aberdeen, Scotland. The Gannet Alpha is a four-leg steel platform, which stands in a water depth of 95m. Gale force winds, hurricanes, severe storms can be expected, especially in winter, in an area such as the North Sea. Therefore the structure and any equipment located on it must be designed to withstand such force.

Page Europa has recruited specialist hazardous area CCTV surveillance manufacturer, Synectics Industrial Systems, to supply a comprehensive Ex CCTV system for the Adriatic LNG terminal, the first offshore concrete LNG terminal in the world.
The terminal, due to start production in 2008, will be operated by "Adriatic LNG", an Italian company, owned by affiliates of Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Edison, and will secure Italy's increasing long-term energy.
