Synectics' Veecam body-worn camera – tough and secureLeading surveillance technology specialist, Synectics announces Veecam, a body-worn, hands-free, digital video recorder for police officers. Weighing less than 300g, the recorder combines high quality video and audio recording with exceptional levels of reliability and image security.
Recordings from Veecam provide an accurate account of what the police officer saw and heard at an incident, enabling the court to fully appreciate the sequence of events as they developed. Skip‐free images are recorded onto solid state memory, and protected using Secure Evidence Gathering System (SEGS) security software, maintaining the evidential integrity of the recorded video / audio.
Designed for the harshest environments
Built to military standards, the Veecam's proven rugged design combines low weight and small size with low power consumption to maximise battery life and operational use. Unlike other body worn systems which rely on SD card or other removable media, Veecam recordings can only be accessed and downloaded using SEGS software. This both maintains the security and integrity of recorded images and eliminates potential design weaknesses in the recorder. 
The Veecam camera is available as either a body-worn or helmet-mounted unit, connected to a ruggedised recording console. In-built, low‐light sensors enable exceptional performance in low‐light conditions, including street lighting. Sound is recorded using a high sensitivity omni‐directional microphone built into camera body enclosureFor ease of use, one-touch, start/stop switches are activated by pinching the body-worn, camera edges. In addition, the console and body‐worn camera can be readily attached to police uniforms with a Klick Fast attachment. Camera mounted LED indicators show recording in progress, low battery and low recording capacity.
