Remote-evidence management application

Synectics’ new remote-evidence management application enables CCTV Control Rooms to provide Police and other 3rd parties with fast and secure remote-access to evidential footage and downloads using a simple request and approval process.

Designed to combine the video viewing requirements of Police and other 3rd parties with the video and evidence control of CCTV Control Rooms, the application offers an innovative method of information sharing that will save both the control room and the associated 3rd parties valuable time and resource.

Features & Benefits

Managed approval process
Access is controlled by the CCTV operator which ensures only authorised
persons can gain access.
Evidence download request
The 3rd party has to place a second request to be able to download the evidence to an external medium which creates a log in Synergy identifying download has taken place.
Full audit trail
The whole request, transfer and download sequence is logged in Synergy providing a full audit trail and accountability.
Remote access
Removes the need for the 3rd party to travel to the Control Room to access the footage saving valuable time and resource.
Fast access for Police
As the footage request is completed on site police can access the footage and identify evidence quickly so that it can be used at the interview stage and whilst the suspect is in custody.
Editable request form
Bespoke fields can be added to capture information relevant to the requesting 3rd party, such as Police Badge Number.

How it works

• Using a Synectics' Synergy client located at the requesting party’s location a request is placed to the control room over a LAN or WAN using a simple request form.
• The authorised control room operator receives the request form and can either authorise or deny the provision of the footage.
• Once accepted the requesting party is notified and the video footage collation process occurs once the operator is available.
• The requesting party is notified once the footage is available and can review using the standard playback controls.
• If the footage is deemed valid the reviewing party can request export capabilities from the control room operator which is then authorised or denied.
• If authorised the requesting party can proceed with an export.
