LAS VEGAS – March 23, 2010 – Synectics Systems Group Ltd, a leading supplier of integrated surveillance and security systems for specialised vertical markets, today announced that it is participating in the Physical Security Interoperability Alliance’s (PSIA) IP-System Interoperability Demonstration at the ISC West 2010 show in Las Vegas. PSIA is showing open standards integrations based on its IP specifications for video management, IP cameras, access control and intrusion systems. Synectics’ award winning Synergy™ video management software will host leading manufacturer’s devices for the technology demonstration, which will take place in Room #803 at the Sands Convention Center on March 25, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
”Synectics has been a strong supporter of PSIA and its efforts to promote a systems-wide approach to interoperability,” said David Bunzel, Executive Director, PSIA. “Synectics plays a critical role in our Technology Demonstration at ISC West. During this event, we will showcase interoperable IP-based access control and intrusion solutions for the first time in the organisation’s history.”
Synectics will utilise its SynergyPro™ platform to enable the demonstration of integration between access control, intrusion detection and video systems. SynergyPro serves as the host that ties together the various elements, acting as the gateway between the three systems, along with managing the notification and workflow associated with system events from an operational point of view. For example, an invalid card is swiped on the access control system, which generates the transmission of a PSIA event to SynergyPro. SynergyPro passes this event to other subscribed PSIA devices, along with presenting details of the event in a graphical mapping environment, along with procedural workflows for the operator to follow. SynergyPro’s compatibility with PSIA IP media devices also enables us to present corresponding video streams for situational awareness.
“Synectics is committed to open standards and is happy to be taking part in these live technology showcases. The advancements made by PSIA to enable not only video system interoperability, but other elements of security systems such as access and intruder, fit seamlessly with Synectics longstanding ethos for open platforms that tie together many traditionally disparate systems, offering true freedom of choice for integrators and end users,” explained David Aindow, Synectics’ business development director.
