ONVIF is a global and open industry forum for the development of a global open standard for the interface of network video products. Founded in 2008 by Axis Communications, Bosch Security Systems and Sony Corporation, ONVIF is committed to the adoption of network video in the security market. The forum already has more than 55 members, representing several of the worlds’ largest manufacturers of network video products.

“We are happy to welcome Synectics into ONVIF,” says Ken Iwasaki in ONVIF’s Steering Committee. It is great to see the growing interest from solution providers from all parts of the world.”

The PSIA was conceived in February 2008, with the objective of promoting the interoperability of IP enabled security devices, and the creation and promotion of broad industry adoption of specifications that provide interchangeability and ease of use of physical security products to the benefit of the end user.
Participating companies include leaders in the security camera, video management software, access control, system integrator segments of the market.

David Bunzel, the Executive Director of the PSIA, comments, “We are pleased to have Synectics join our alliance. Synectics has established a position as a technology leader in the physical security industry and joining the PSIA shows the growing interest in our organisation and its initiatives in international markets.”

Through this membership Synectics will participate in the development of open standards and the recommendation and support of standards for the physical security industry. They will be participating in three of the Technical Working Groups;
IP Video, Analytics, and the Recording and Content Management group, all of which aim to further security technologies and standards.

By participating in the development of open standards for IP enabled security devices Synectics can look to continue to offer its customers the freedom of multi-vendor choice when designing their security system.
