Extreme environment CCTV specialist, Synectics Industrial Systems, has been awarded the contract to supply the CCTV for two Kizomba C FPSO’s (Mondo and Saxi Batuque) by NesscoInvsat. The two FPSOs will be based on the conversion of VLCCs taken from SBM Offshore’s inventory.
Synectics has already successfully provided CCTV for Kizomba A and B, so it is a natural conclusion for Synectics to be selected to continue to supply its established and reputable COEX camera stations and control systems.
The Kizomba C Development Project will cost US$3.5 billion and incorporates the Mondo, Saxi and Batuque deepwater fields and will produce reserves using subsea wells tied back to an FPSO rather than to dry trees. The FPSO will be designed to produce 100,000 b/d of oil, with a storage capacity of nearly 2 MMbbl.
The FPSOs will be moored by external turrets and further fitted with large capacity water and gas treatment and reinjection facilities, in addition to the related power generation equipment.
Synectics will be providing their established COEXTM FECH/3 EExd certified Fixed and PTZ camera stations designed specifically for hazardous areas, in conjunction with the COEXTM FEWS wash systems (also ATEX certified) and control system to ensure total reliability in these dangerous and hostile conditions.
This project will be completed and installed by 2Q 2008.
